Never been inside either house and I believe there is a very long waiting list for the one on the right.

The low sun lighting up the red brick of the courthouse makes it stand out from the dark green trees and shaded road. Bright blue sky for this time of year, and I see the chap under the tree is wearing his overcoat to keep out the chill.
Winter is coming.

Good photo Dennis.

I think the Court building is better looking than any of the new modern buildings.
The one on the left is downright ugly.

T.D., I too have never been in Brocol House or the NEW courthouse, though I did once go in the old one! I hope this comment appears as I answered you yesterday re the magpie greeting but it didn't appear.....so annoying! I don't know why that happens now and again. Good photo, Dennis, in the Autumn sun.

I, too, have never been inside the building mentioned.

Irene, occasionally post disappears before it's posted. Yesterday seemed to be one of those days. I'm trying Collins cucumber tip, to keep Gremlins away from the device.

John, (Westhoughton). Odd you should mention Hylda Baker as I am just reading, (for the umpteenth time), her life story, written by the late Jean Fergusson, (who was Marina in Last of the Summer Wine).

A pleasant photo Dennis, I've always admired the images that are in the brickwork of this building, they must have been like doing a giant jigsaw puzzle for the bricklayers, but they did a grand job of finishing and they look impressively superb, however inside it's the usual ordinary government office decor.
I've been in twice, once when doing an essay on the licensing laws as part of an assignment and I went reading through the files they have there.
The other time was when I had been taken to court.
It was when I was driving along a main road and someone drove out of a side street in front of me, and though they were obviously at fault they kept insisting it was myself at fault, and in court their solicitor was even grasping at straws in an attempt at proving it was me, however the judge did see through their ploy and ruled in my favour.

I've been in Brocol House too when doing work there, and that's as dull inside as is the outside, though they weren't too pleased with me as in the interview rooms they had a strip around the walls and I kept catching it, I didn't know and thinking it to be a border, however it was the panic alarm.
The staff there were always panicking though, as whenever they had an itch on their legs they blamed it on the fleas from off the unwashed public, or even worse when the travellers had been in, and they then got us in spraying the Flit.

Suppose when they build them new flats I’ll be easier for them losers to get their benefits then walk to court.

Irene…she knows you know…we see a woman riding along the prom at Morecambe that we’ve nicknamed Marina she does resemble her and always lets on …

Cyril that was the only time I went to court and won my case! I was driving down Church St and a nutter backed out of a street into the left side of my car. He actually blamed me! Minding my own business driving on a main road. He owned a garage at the top of Church St selling cars!!!! Believe it or not…he thought he would get away with it and he had the same Insurers as me! The cheek of the man.
He also came knocking on my door to persuade me not to take him to court. I was working at the County Court in Wigan at the time.

Could not agree more with others Dennis, captured beautifully in the sun.
I think in architectural terms it was designed in ‘In The Vernacular’ in other words Red Brick to blend in with the rest of Wigan.

Irene, very unusual for me to check in at this time, I must get a little finger on my watch!!!!!

Veronica so true, they should leave it to the insurance to decide, nor should they be allowed to try and bully or intimidate folks, but they do, though if police were called they'll probably fob folks off with the usual 'its a civil matter.'
