Dogs
Photo: Mick Byrne (.)
Good photo Mick Byrne.
Stand by for action.
Have a cracking birthday Irene Roberts.
Obviously a communal dog walk Mick but the bags on the railings puzzle me ......a litter picking dog walk ??
Thanks TD. Awwww, aren't they lovely? They're probably singing "Why Are We Waiting?" in doggy language! Helen, I think you might be right....at first I thought the bags would contain poo-bags, bottles of water and drinking-bowls and maybe dog-treats, but some of the bags are black bin-bags, so it probably IS a litter-picking group. There seem to be quite a few such groups in various areas of Wigan, and well done to them. Lovely photo.
Happy Birthday Irene and belated Happy Birthday John.
Good photo Mick. Thank you.
They can’t wait to get going. Don’t know why they’re hanging plastic bags on the railings…..lovely dogs they look well looked after.
Somebody mentioned on here about wigan world pad going to the dogs.
Well caught picture mick, it's one of them you see it snap it quick.
Who Let The Dogs Out!
Nice picture Dennis, they all look well behaved and eager to go but what in heavens name are all those plastic bags for? Too big for Poo Bags! Was there a bin man’s strike in Poolstock?
Sorry Mick, I’m not very observant today! thought it had been posted by Dennis. Still a good picture though.
Meg thank you……Mick is that the second lock on the Leigh branch as there’s a number 2 on the far gate?
Not forgetting a fellow Howfener … Many Happy Returns John. Enjoy your day.
I’m sitting on my bottom here
‘Cos I’m tied up to this fence
I don’t really like it much
‘Cos it’s not what I want to do
I just want to find a patch of grass
‘Cos I’m desperate for a poo!
Veronica thank you……
Well behaved dogs too, maybe that's right DTease, and why they're all ready to be off. Hope you've had a good day Irene and John.
Thanks, Meg, for the birthday wishes, and Thanks, DTease, for the poem....brilliant! A lovely day on p-a-d with nice comments.
Thanks, Cyril.
Cheers Cyril mine was yesterday but the thoughts are still there……
I hope they’re not still waiting!
It somehow reminds me of the 1960s TV advert for dog food: This one-
Master McGrath dog food (2): 1960s
A panel of dogs sits in a line with a voiceover discussing this dog food
Chair dog: What do you think of Master McGrath dog food?
First dog (a Scottish terrier in a broad accent) : Aye, it's all meat, a real treat.
Second dog: You can see it's good.
Third dog (a long-haired breed with hair covering its eyes, in a dumb voice): Well I can't.
Fourth dog: Then get your haircut!
Then they all erupt in laughter.

And a pity that the film or videos of the adverts haven't been saved as they could be quite amusing.
A belated Happy Birthdays Irene and John, i've been off the pitch for a couple of days :)
Cheers young man.
