I feel sorry for the child who is bought a fancy balloon then lets go of it and it floats off into the sky.

As usual a desolate scene. ‘Hope’ springs eternal’ by moving into the Main Street from the Grand Arcade. The balloon man doesn’t look too happy. Hardly anybody about…

A lovely splash of colour on this miserable, grey day. Thank you Mick.

There are strings attached to his fun business venture, but with low demand and high inflation it could.. take off!

I see in the background that the Hope Charity Shop is set to relocate from The Grand Arcade into the former Debenhams / Wilco store.

It is a cheerful photo, hope he sold some of the balloons.
Re the weather...here on the East coast of Norfolk we have a sunny, warm day. I wish I could send some of it your way !

It needs an awkward kid with a defiant attitude to go along there and demand a balloon from the middle, that would cheer him up.

Has anyone ever stood on that Juliet balcony and addressed the crowds that were once often seen in Standishgate? I was considering that it could well have been during the local Lobbie war, but of course it isn't that old.

We've had almost a week of glorious sunshine, so a shower or two of rain is welcome to water the weeds, keep the Ducks happy and wash the smell of nicotine from the feathers of the town centre Pigeons.
