Mount Zion
Always looks tidy and well kept every time I go past.

I have passed this many times and I agree that it always looks well-kept. I wonder if it has many communicants? Perhaps it is used for other things as well as worship these days....craft groups etc....as many churches are.
In the early 60s I used to look at the photos in the Wigan Observer of the newly married couples - names, place of residence etc and where they were married. Mount Zion is one that fascinated me. It sounded almost exotic.
It looks well maintained .
Built in a more ‘God fearing’ time. I hope it’s used for all sorts of groups.
Good photo Dennis, I would trudge past here at weekends on my way to imbibe of the nectar at the pubs in Pemberton some 50 odd years ago. And then the gardens were always well looked after and were larger too than they are now, as the church lost a big corner of land when the council altered and widened the road junction.
I'm sure they did have youth groups, amateur dramatics and other events on in the church hall, but nothing is listed on their Facebook page, unless events are available from their Resource Centre, scroll down to Mount Zion - https://imchurches.org.uk/resources-for-you/
I remember going to the youth club in the early 60,s and belonging to the netball team, also was on the Black and White minstral Show, good times.
