Planter
Cant wait until next spring to see the bridge covered in flowers.
How exciting! That made me nearly choke on my scotch porridge oats.
Do people see an empty wall and think to themselves.."I must get that wall plastered with posters"..there's even one on the front tree..that scene would look a lot better with just a bare wall.
I think this endless bombardment of adverts for fast food etc is defacing buildings, and nailing/sticking posters on trees is definitely a no no.
Mill Laner, the wrought iron bridge style planter stand would have looked superb planted up with containers of flowers now during summer, rather than left till next year in spring.
Those advertising posters really are an eyesore aren't they Maureen, yet for them to be there someone must go around and looking at the pictures, the flyposting on the trees and fly tipping near to them is also a blight and so distasteful.
Veronica, I've heard that someone had shown Kofi their parrot this mornings photo a day and that 'Kofi was so blown away he had fallen of his perch.'
Positive as ever Veronica.....
Why are there so many nasty comments from the same gang appearing on PADS lately ?
Maybe instead of commenting they should get out there and take some photos themselves.
Cyril, they are an eyesore,do the people who put them there not see how ugly they look..and talking of parrots some years go I was in a supermarket outside of Wigan and they'd had workmen in on one of the little shops on the mall..he had this lovely parrot there who was ever so friendly ,however I said the usual "Hello" to which he answered. "F off" as clear as a bell, the man that owned the shop said " the workmen taught him that and now I'll never sell him"
Will the real "Mill Laner" please stand up? I wonder who it is?!
Abram Alice - I can't see any 'nasty comments'. I can see people's opinions, and as far as I'm aware, we're allowed to express these in a calm, mannered way.
I agree about all the Adverts and signage …what’s to like about it?
As well, will real 'gang' stand up alongside their 'nasty comments' !!
Instead of latching on to
people’s comments why not give an opinion on the photo??? That is what it’s there for..why any of the posts are being judged is beyond me. There’s nothing I can see that’s ‘nasty’.. in fact I have seen far worse.
For folks to teach parrots to swear and then to laugh about it just shows their mentality doesn't it Maureen, these swear words will be in their vernacular at home too with their young children picking up the words, and thinking it's normal to speak that way, then when they hear their children effing and jeffing they'll be laughing about that too.
I'd made up the tale of the parrot, though Kofi is the the name of the African Grey parrot in the novel The Parrot's Tale by Miller Caldwell, if you ever see a copy get it as it's an enjoyably good read, one of those books you just have to read another page or two before forcing yourself to put it down, and to get on with doing some work.
Irene, it'll be the same person behind John Noakes, Sally, Abram Alice, et al.
Cyril,I've noticed lately how many more swear words are cropping up on TV..,there doesn't seem to be any shame any more,I never heard my Dad swear once, and I once said " blinkin" elk and my Mam choked me off..re the book The Parrots Tale, I will certainly look out for it...and thank you,
Of course that blinking elk should have read blinking eck.lol.
Cyril and Maureen. I was once in the bus station in Wigan, when a gang of young lads turned up the f.. word I was told, when I told them off was, "Its just figure of speech" they had just come out of school!!!
