Volunteers

All the Volunteers are doing a great job helping the canal and river trust to keep our waterways clean and tidy.
I'll toast a glass of sherry to them, cheers.
It’s noticeable that the volunteers are mainly the older generation who are so generous in giving up their free time. They make a great difference to their surroundings.
The older people clearer all the rubbish up while some younger people make it untidy.
On the other side of the canal there, which is actually Woodhouse Lane, the bit which was cut off when they extended Scot Lane, some 51yrs ago, that is where I have seen Narrow Boats being launched from, the Narrow Boat arrives on a low loader, and a crane lifts the Narrow Boat over those railings and plonks it in the water.
This is part of the towpath being dugout and relaid, it will be lovely for walkers and cyclists to be able to navigate without hitting big potholes.
The building on the left, is that Greens Carpets?
Are they trying to find Shevvy Micks bike?
It is Edna, they've been there a long time and not surprising really as the customer service there is second to none.
Thank you Cyril, I thought it was a lot further away than it is.
