Photo-a-Day (Tuesday, 28th February, 2023)
Church Lane
Potholes in the roads, Wigan is getting worse with them. Wouldn't have thought Shevington was that bad Mick, I thought Shevy was the envy of Wigan.
Thought this was shangri la but it is just like anywhere else with bland buildings and potholed street. What is the shop in this row of normal non descript buildings. Mick your not selling a good image of Shevvy with this photo.
Nasty looking pothole, you'd think that the parish council would take care of the roads around there. Could do a cyclist a nasty injury
Isn't that where you was created, Mick?
I read the news today ho boy!
Four thousand holes in Shevy, Lancashire.
And though the holes are rather small
Mick has a photo of them all
Now he has enough to fill the Parish Hall.
What do you mean “Gerroff”?
Open bell on the church - a bit like Wingates, St John, on the A6 just before Howfen.
The shop? These days, in an environment like this, either a bridal fitters or a Vape shop.
Agree, the pothole looks nasty.
Thirty odd years ago I remember going to one of those houses along there when they had some sort of pest in their shed, and the owner was showing me his musical instruments he had stored in there, turned out he once played trumpet, saxophone etc., in the local showbands and dance bands of what will now be fifty to sixty years ago. Someone may remember him and the band and hopefully those instruments got to be cleaned up and are being played to an audience again.
Excellent comical take of A Day in the Life, DTease. Ignore the gerroffs we want an encore.
Beware if that road is flooded or you may end up like this bloke - https://youtu.be/hoXhA1qTqug
Gary, St.John's is not "just before Howfen", it's IN IT.
The Gerrard Arms is "just before Howfen" if you're approaching from Aspull.
Hindley Cemetery is "just before Howfen" if you're approaching from Hindley.
