Took me a second or two to get the pun, Dennis....bit slow this morning! We always call this "Donimoes" as that's how my granddaughter used to pronounce it as a little girl. We took her and our grandson a couple of times for a takeaway pizza when they were small and found it expensive; I suppose we're of "the old school" when it comes to prices....the young ones don't seem to question the value of things as we did. The above isn't really in a good catchment area ; it's a bit "no-man's-land" just there to my thinking.

Junk food. No protein.Too many about. Not just them but other junk food outlets aswell. I am old school.
Much prefer traditional fish and chips.

No Nutritions in take aways no wonder we're a fat society.
Modern family's very rarely prepare and cook good meals today, is just a quick microwave meals. My grand children love them, sadly.

Rode past a sign advertising a 12 inch pizza for £9-50. Silly money for stodge

If anyone asked, would you like a kebab or pizza in the 1980s, I would have said who's swaring.
Unheard of then.

I do think this new building blends in very nicely  with the Trencherfield mill area.
As for it not being in  a good catchment area, that is completely wrong , my neighbour is a fast food manager and she says it's one of their busiest outlets because it's on the main road towards Wigans council estates, of Worsley Mesnes, Marsh Green and Norley hall.

You don't have to be living on a Council estate to eat that rubbish, Abram Alice. I live on Private estate and junk food delivery people are never away from it.

Only been once. I returned a Hawaiian pizza because it was burned. The manager apologised and said they should have cooked it on aloha light.

I'll get me coat.

They would have to pay me to eat that stuff. I would still refuse it…
I would rather go for fish and chips as a treat. Only now and then and lightly battered.

Comment by: Garry on 3rd February 2023 at 14:52

I would sooner be a sharving skeleton than eat that stuff.

Comment by: Colin Harlow on 3rd February 2023 at 15:16

Fish and chips for me too, in moderation. Never been to these places.

Comment by: DTease on 3rd February 2023 at 15:36

I’ve had many a portion of fish and chips when I’ve been lightly battered Veronica.

Never appealed to me, you have to blame all this TV advertising , thats what our kids are seeing all the time.

fish & chips with plenty batter and loads of salt & vinegar. smothered in bread & butter. That is million times more healthier that all this rubbish.

I have only ever had one McDonalds, when they first came to Wigan. Once was enough. Long live Fish and chips.

Comment by: Veronica on 3rd February 2023 at 21:31

I can just imagine you sporting a black eye Dtease when you ask for fish ‘n’ chips…;o))

Comment by: Pat McC on 3rd February 2023 at 21:44

Fish and chips were a treat on the occasional Saturday teatime whilst listening to 'The Clitheroe Kid' on the wireless (Light Programme)!
