Those Bath Bombs are 'Frauthy Man' I can't remember now which 'pop' was being advertised when the cartoon polar bear wearing shades said 'It's Frauthy Man' on the ad.

Is it sabotage or has the council put an additive in the fountain to stop algae growth?

Why is it ' foamed up ' ??

You get a lot of kids using the fountain as a paddling pool, their mothers who stand there watching don't realise that the fountain is very slippery underfoot and if one of them slips and cracks their head on the cast iron it could mean death.

I'm sure the pop was Cresta

It's a lovely fountain and good replica of the original. Is that a football in the top pool?

When an accident does and May happen, it will be a case of railing around it!

It was Cresta WN1 Standisher, thanks. Some folks liked them better with either Gin or Vodka added to them. Here's a collection of the ads. https://youtu.be/Gq3m73bL_NI

The mothers may make it soapy to help wash the children's feet when having a paddle. They haven't been able to retrieve their ball from the top tier, it's probably too slippery to climb up now.

Veronica I have the same sentiments and have posted before about kids not only paddling but climbing all over the fountain and damaging it.

I haven’t seen the new fountain when I first saw it on a photograph I though it was plastic! But seeing as it’s cast iron my opinion has changed. I suppose it is tempting when the weather is hot Peter but I wouldn’t let my grandchildren paddle in it. There could be a nasty accident waiting. to happen.

Perfectly understandable to imagine that the fountain was plastic Veronica , given that this country is awash with plastic civic fountains .

Veronica you aren't on your own I too on first seeing it on a photograph thought it looked plasticky, others too have commented on the 'Airfix model' look of it.

I can't understand why the council had to commission a fountain modelled on the one they had dismantled and then sold for scrap. They then had it painted in a drab colour that looks like it's been painted with an industrial primer that makes it look plastic. Why didn't they go for a modern design that could have been colourfully painted which would then have been gratifying to adults and also enthralling to children.

Vlad , Donald is due to announce on Tuesday, so people with names like yours could get a job. Ask Ray on here , the quickest route to crazy land ! Don't forget to have either Chris or Ac dc blowing in your ears on the bus . Me, I prefer Simon and G , and the blank face of reality from the Graduate , going the other way , on a 22 to Marsh Green...
