Poolstock

I think the Poolstock Lock is only open 2 days a week. I know the CRT is not well run , but I think the poor water management is being caused by god shutting off the rain.
I've wrote several times to CRT complaining about low hanging tree branches, and trees growing out of Gathurst hump back bridge but they have done nothing about them, this is what they should be doing now cutting back trees and making the towpath bike friendly
Poolstock Church home of Tom’s Pantry, a food outlet serving up junk food, I been in a few times and what they serve up is very good.
If you go to the church on Saturday 17th September you can have a go at ringing the church bells yourself.
Too many locks are leaking, and we need rain, the top up reservoirs are very low.
Nice photo of the church. I have a dvd taken from an old cine-film of a bowling match being played, somewhere nearby, as that church is in the background. The film is from about the 1930s.
Next time I'm passing I will call into Tom’s Pantry, thanks for the information Mick.
When you think about it canals without water are just ditches. Thinking back to the lads swimming in them in days gone by and diving from the locks, makes me shudder.
