St Peters
Lovely photo of St. Peter's in the sunshine. I used to pass by that church four times a day when I was at school,,,,nine o'clock start to the school day, four o'clock finish, AND I went all the way home to Ince for my dinner, running down from the Grammar School to catch the bus at The Bird I'th Hand....no wonder I was slim! ! We always had the school carol service at St, Peter's. They always do a lovely poppy display for Remembrance Day. There's just something I like about Hindley.
My younger sister got married there and i gave her away as dad wasn't well enough, nice photo.
Another lovely landmark, set against the clear blue sky.
Good photo Fred.
Thanks, it has come out bigger than I expected though, it fits my screen complely, but not on here.
Hope Fred doesn't mind if I post this on St. Peter's Facebook page. Great photo thank you.
This is a lovely church, although I've only been in it twice. There is something I like about Hindley Irene. Thanks for photo Fred.
A lovely church, something about the proportions,as it always looks much bigger from outside.x
I have been in this church thousands of times but the last time was 1989.I remember when the outside wall was much higher and would have spoiled this view.I also remember the new vestry to the right being built by Mr Whiteside from up Hall Lane. Also been up the bell tower and was allowed to have a go at ringing the bells.I too have a soft spot for Hindley. Thanks Fred.
Fred doesn't mind Cynthia.
The church clock never the right time.
It’s right twice a day.
