The Fields
Realm of the Dragonfly
Like an army gunship ,
she'd pause and stare at me ,
a master of the bullrush ,
her speed as fleet can be .
Her helmet head enclosure ,
Her thin and narrow tail ,
her wings a veined perfection ,
translucent, fragile pale .
Broken wings are gathered ,
full and still intact ,
within the hands they crumble ,
no wind , no breath , no act . ..
That's a lovely photo for a sunny morning as we head towards September, which is such a lovely time of year. It makes me want to be eight years old again and "play out", I think I'll call for Veronica, Helen, Maureen and Elizabeth and see if they're coming out to play!
We’ll bring our walking sticks Irene….!
Lovely photo makes me feel like getting out and walking.. mind you that’s all I ever do.
Yes it does Irene,a lovely pic.Walked near here on Monday.
I'm coming Irene.....
I remember playing out once when we lived at Holland Moor & was with my friend Jean Gaskell, we weren't that far from home. & suddenly my sister appeared and said 'You are in trouble, Mother's very cross, do you know what time it is ? Its 10 oclock '
It was broad daylight & I hadn't got a watch, how was I supposed to know ?
Perhaps it was when there was still double summer time after the war, does anyone know when that ended?
Anyway Irene count me in !
The foreground makes this photo, and it looks a nice place to live.
Nice photo Dennis.I love this part of Aspull, with all its greenery.
