The poor girl was still there this morning. She has been there at least a month!

I can’t tell if that is a boy or a girl. It looks like a girl.
The thing that shocks me most about this photo is the three ladies enjoying a casual conversation while totally oblivious of the youngster laying in the dirt surrounded by the only things she owns in the world.
I’m not blaming the three ladies in any way, they are not responsible for the situation and, sadly, we have all grown used to seeing scenes like this, but this is someone’s child and it makes me sad to see such things.

An insensitive photo to put the World Wide Web. There but for the grace of God.....

The three ladies look to be hospital staff, maybe they are discussing/even interacting with the unfortunate girl.

To be sleeping in a bus shelter for weeks, surely means she wants to be found… Makes me wonder what the illegal immigrants think or feel when they see youngsters like this, as they walk past with their smart phones and free travel passes. What a paradox that is.

A friend of mine who works at the hospital was saying that she is quite happy being there, people are giving her food so she is well fed.He asked her if there was anything that she wanted and she said a book on microbiology, her name is Sarah, age 33 and she is originally from Salford next time your passing stop and say hello.

I drove past one day and there was a patient, along with her drip and stand, very sad.

Its disgraceful people having no homes to live in, in todays society. Everyone should have somewere to live and be treated the same.

It is like this all over the country. I was in Bath last week and there was an enormous amount of rough sleepers. This is what we get with a few years of a Tory government. It was just as bad under Thatcher.

Every time I go past here she is reading a book by the light in the bus shelter, at 11:00 pm last night she was deeply engrossed in a large tome.

So true Veronica, for the illegals there's no limit to the amount of help they receive, if you are born and bred here or even served in the armed forces you get nowt!

When Amin, Ameer and Aminanal etc., are going past here on the free bus back to luxury at the Britannia Hotel after drinking coffee and smoking camel squit cigarettes in the town centre, lets hope they are thankful for what they are receiving courtesy of the UK tax payers - though I doubt it.

All over the country??? It’s like this all over the world. I was in Los Angeles a few years ago, practically whole villages of them around the perimeters of car parks. San Francisco, fighting over discarded food bins.

Your right Syd, her name is Sarah, and she's 33.I know this girl. She is in the autistic spectrum ie, asperger syndrome. Her dad lives in Leigh. He sometimes comes to Wigan to meet her.She is well known to hospital staff, and they help her when they can.She stays there because she feels safe. She had a flat in Hindley, and was scared to go to it,because people taking drugs and drinking were on the stairs when she went there, and she was bullied and intimidated, the police did nothing. Its a sight of the times.I could go on and on about this situation I'm afraid it's were Sarah wants to be.Obviously the hospital can't do anything unless she has a medical condition.

Anne,
I was in LA and San Fran just before Covid and it was horrific. By all accounts it has gone even worse now. Tent city’s and drug taking on the street is rampant.
