Photo-a-Day (Tuesday, 28th June, 2022)
Warrington Road
Photo: Dennis Seddon (Sony DSC-WX500)
You mean Warrington Road, Ince?
Warrington Road, Lower Ince, Wigan ?
You must have been glued to the train window Dennis… next bridge please…
Yes, correct JH. Walk under this railway bridge followed by walking over the canal bridge all within a very short distance of each other.
Yes, it's Lower Ince. I recognise the yellow sign with black arrows pointing up the side street.
Yet more innovation from the man who brought us Topdeckism .
I like the idea that this photo is but a glimpse . A split second shot as the carriage rattles by . Who knows what might have been revealed in one of those windows . Unseen things that only later manifest when the picture is ' developed ' . It brings back the old word ' snap ' . 'To take a snap shot '.
What are calling this new movement Dennis ?
I don't know Poet. How about "railwayism"?
That's not very inspired though is it?
I reckon you could come up with something better.
The Girl on the Train..
How about Snapshotflashism.
Nice one JG1 . Much of the Avant Garde last century came from Germany and there's a little suggestion of Blitzkrieg in your suggestion which is the essence of the idea . And the flashism bit sounds rather like Hitler 'bout dentures .
Snapshotflashism it is . If Dennis gives it the nod , the movement is born .
Thanks poet, for some reason me top lip is itchy, and my arm keeps shooting upwards.
Poet , Goes to show , if only we could have nobbled his teeth first , then who knows.
Ps His medical history
read is a must.
Or " Just a glimpse and gone forever" not my idea I'm afraid, it's copied from the title of a book of steam railway photos by a very well known author.
Snapshotflashism it is then JG1. A child is born!
Not really the ideal Super Specimen was he Dave a . And if he'd not changed his name I doubt he would ever have come to power at all . I mean who could shout , ' Heil Shicklgruber ' , without falling down laughing.
Well Dennis I feel like a father at the birth of a child.
Thank you Dennis & Poet, a new word is born for WW photo -A- Day.
