Mick: This is no normal duck, it’s a M & S duck on offer with all the trimmings.
Mick: It’s plumage is fantastic, never seen one like this, good photo.

I love the blue plumage. Beautiful bird.

Google suggests a Cayuga duck. Almost certainly escaped from a private collection. Big ducks don't tend to fly across the Atlantic.

Another illegal to come to our shores...I'm sure it will be welcome in Wigan Park though..lovely colours.

Soon to be spotted in Rwanda then?

Comment by: Syd Smith on 16th April 2022 at 12:37

Could it not be the result of a Cormorant and a Mallard having it off

Comment by: Cyril on 16th April 2022 at 13:44

Looks very trendy with its blue rinse, how did you know it's an American duck Mick, was it quacking with a southern drawl.

Comment by: Edna on 16th April 2022 at 13:55

Very good photo, were did you spot this Mick?

Comment by: TerryW on 16th April 2022 at 13:57

One of your better ones, Mick, I wonder if it comes from a council estate?

Comment by: Donald on 16th April 2022 at 17:13

Nah its just bin int cut at New Springs

Comment by: John G on 16th April 2022 at 17:27

Syd Smith: I wouldn’t have thought a cormorant and a duck could as you put it have it off, the duck I should imagine is a male, bird’s ornate feathers generally are male, it’s the female that are plain plumage.

Comment by: John Noakes on 16th April 2022 at 17:41

That's not an American Black Duck, it's a black Pomeranian.
