Photo-a-Day (Tuesday, 12th April, 2022)
Worthington
A very peaceful scene, though rather Wintry! Brrrrr! It makes the house in the distance seem a very lonely place to live. although it's probably glorious in Summer.
The house is only a stone throw from Chorley Road
He's in there
Under the cold pewter
The lone gunman
Looking up through the water
Watching you .
2 weeks ago I walked round all 3 reservoirs and stood at roughly near to this spot to take a photo of the same view. 50 years ago one would have seen in the background the Bleachworks, now it is apartments on the site I understand.
Thanks Roylew. I don't know the area very well so just imagined the house was in a solitary location. I only really know The White Crow in Worthington but it seems a very pleasant area.
From boy to man the rod goes to ,
to sit alone on hand made pew ,
A place in heaven , the few will sit ,
to pick their brains to outwit it ,
Unique boxes , witches crones ,
Would look inside and leave alone ,
Squashed together these menu bells ,
are thrown or shot near breathing smells ,
Any movement the eyes must see ,
He doesn’t just pick , even though it’s free,
The chaps too cunning , so you must wait ,
Wait til lunch time , or darkness mate .
Patience holding is the one who wins ,
Waiting waiting whatever happens brings ,
Cast forever , read the swim ,
read the clouds , a tree fell in ,
What is under , a scary cast ,
A passion to land, or a line caught fast .
i bet there's wild swimming in that lake in the summer...
Veronica: What type of Wild swimming are you thinking of.
Well it won't be skinny dipping John G. I wouldn't want to frighten the horses...;o))
Veronica: As if I thought for one minute that a very nice Woman as your self would want to go skinny dipping! The very thought of it.
But come to think of it, if you want to have a go don’t worry about the horses, I’ll keep nicks, I’am sure DTease would help.
Very good e. I pictured, in my minds eye, my husband and son who used to go here fishing, every Sat morning.
Always willing to help Veronica, providing that I don’t have to go in myself. Much too cold for me! I’m shriveling up just thinking about it, brrrrr.
Far too cold for me too.
I go swimming once a week at the Leisure Centre it has to be like warm dishwater! 30 Lengths no less !
Just to let Irene and Edna know I have accidentally deleted my email account and I am having a devil of a job getting it recovered. I'm pinning my hopes on my young grandson helping me tomorrow. The perils of technology for oldies!
