The Royal Albert Edward Infirmary
How things have changed, remember when A&E was in a separate building by the left of the main entrance.had a few cuts stitched up in there and the old "foreign body"removed from eyes.one time there would have been a union flag flying from the flagpole,as I said"times change"
I used to work there many years ago. It was called Casualty then, rather than Emergency Department.
"The rainbow flag is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and queer pride and LGBT social movements. Also known as the gay pride flag or LGBT pride flag, the colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community and the spectrum of human sexuality and gender." .........
IT'S A DISGRACE.
Alan, a friend of mine was the senior nurse in A/E where I live now and she always say " there is nothing casual about my department" so true
James Hanson. Agree with you 101%. Total disgrace. Who makes the decision to fly it?
Was the rainbow symbol and flag not a part of the support for the NHS during the beginnings of the pandemic, all that clapping etc. Unfortunate that the rainbow has other connotations.
I'm intrigued as to why you think it's a disgrace. Could you explain please? Genuine question.
The rainbow is for the NHS,,, as were the rainbows in everyone's windows, drawn by children at the start of Covid, with "Stay Safe" written on them. I had one on my own window, drawn by my granddaughter, Wigan Infirmary also had a beautiful display of flowers in rainbow colours and a tree lit up with rainbow coloured lights. I'm not sure whether they are still there but the colours were for the NHS, nothing else.
It only represents a minority of people, should at least be the union flag.
I don't understand why you should think it 'a disgrace'. Gay and Lesbian people are human beings like the rest of us and their sexuality is through no fault of their own.
Eeeeh, they are that sharp they will cut their own throats. With the it is a disgrace, a flag for the NHS and what do they see....... it is a lovely pic and do they have the good grace to come back on and admit they were wrong- meh.....
If it is a flag in support of the NHS it would be white with a rainbow symbol on it.All the drawings I saw in windows were rainbow shaped not just stripes,if you visit Blackpool lots of the hotels and guesthouses have the flag,I don't think they are to support the NHS.
It's the Rainbow logo of hope and peace and in the NHS it simply means that we are inclusive of all identities, regardless of how people define themselves, and is even on the road of Wigan Lane outside the hospital, and says 'Thank You NHS.'
Irene, the tree is still there shining bright and colourful throughout the night
We are all human and not one of us qualify to throw the first stone, so why in this day and age do folks come out with what relates to homophobic comments. Remember when pointing your finger and saying 'disgrace' that there are three fingers pointing back at you.
Does the flag really matter? Irene the tree is still lit up.
For goodness sake just live and let live
I agree Sue.. I believe this is for peace and hope, just like the rainbow's.
Mean spirited perhaps?
You can’t buy a rainbow , this gifts not for sale ,
Look for its treasure , I promise you will fail ,
You can hold a treasure , of something like this ,
For you when you see a rainbow , it holds the hope we all wish ...
That flag is for the NHS and nothing more. Blowing in the wind to show there's always hope when you see the colours of a rainbow after rain.
