This morning I had an email from my very good friend Dougie telling me an easier way to watch a video from a link I may have added to the
Dougie says, Mick some on here complain about you adding your Video's this way, I say keep doing it, I've tried telling people it only takes two clicks to watch them but admin keeps deleting it off, you don't have to move off P-A-D to see them, all they have to do is ( highlight your link right click, a box drops down with your youtube link just click it ) TRY IT YOURSELF
This video link shows the new, but not yet finished Wigan Wallgate cycle lane, so very soon Wiganers will be able to ride into town and store their bikes safely in the new Avanti cycle shed.

This is why I couldn't enter that way on Friday! It's the shortcut to and from the platform most people use. Incidentally

Good grief, is this what we have endured over 12months of chaos down Wallgate for? So that half a dozen bikers can park their flippin’ contraptions in the doorway into the Station? Whatever are the powers that be thinking of!

Interesting view of modern Wigan. But you can see why people get angry at certain cyclists watching the red light jumping outside Wallgate station at time 6.25.

Mick you're so lucky having the legs to ride a bike, I wish mine still worked, and you are right in saying Wiganers can safely leave a bike and travel anywhere in the country by free bus if you're a pensioner.

Mick: Don’t forget it’s Valentine’s Day, send ditty to the special someone, or something, in your life.
Roses are red, Violet’s are blue, with a face like yours who needs a Zoo.

Love this, even an artist could not replicate the patina.

When I was at school , Valentine's Day and the bike sheds were always inextricably linked .

Syd Smith, As far as I know, the pensioners bus pass issued in England
is only valid in England. I believe it is not valid in Northern Ireland or
Scotland or Wales. If I am wrong, I am sure someone will let me know.

Ray.

My lady is wealthy and has a title ,
She rides in a carriage while I ride a cycle ,
She said that we could not be wed
While I toot my horn in a bicycle shed .

My lady thus gave me the choice ,
Lose the bike and get a Rolls Royce ,
A lock up at West Coast Avanti ,
Or a glimpse of my lady's bra and panties ?

I backed a winner with my book maker ,
And said goodbye to the old bone shaker ,
And this Valentine's day I'm full of glee ,
For I've joined the ranks of the nobility .

dot: isn’t that a coating of some kind generally green.

Comment by: Pat McC on 14th February 2022 at 21:13

Ray, I can only use my bus pass to n Wales, so I assume that the passes can only be used in the country you live in.

Comment by: Ray on 14th February 2022 at 21:50

Pat McC, Do you mean you can travel to North Wales, or only in Wales ?.
Perhaps you live in Wales.

Comment by: Poet on 14th February 2022 at 22:03

A free bus pass at 60 for every British citizen except the English . You can't get fairer than that can you ?

Comment by: Veronica on 15th February 2022 at 08:14

Then an extra £10 to pay so you can board trams and trains, even though you could still do that without paying £10 previously. Thank you Andy Burnham for that!

Comment by: PeterP on 15th February 2022 at 15:51

I had to wait till I was 66 year old to get my bus pass.

Comment by: Pat McC on 15th February 2022 at 16:09

Sorry Ray, I've only just seen your post - I live in Pembrokeshire but can travel anywhere in Wales, by bus. Can't use it in the rest of the UK though, which is fair enough.

Comment by: James Hanson on 17th February 2022 at 23:18

Peter, Downall Greeners can have a bus pass at 60.
