Photo-a-Day (Thursday, 10th February, 2022)
Ivy Brow
Lovely photo Dennis, could be any county in England.Well done.
Another good one Dennis.
Up th'Iven.
The position on the canal is where I first attempted to fish with a rod. Caught one roach.
A nice, homely scene. Good one, Dennis.
Lovely photo Dennis this morning. Its such a very nice area.
Nice one that :)
Now are 'we' sure this is New Springs.?
If it is it's very nice... at least it's not a mud bath today with horses thinking of running off to other greener fields!
Well to be absolutely honest, I cant see how some folk can say this photo is lovely to me its just a photo of some bracken and the back end of a barn, pile of muck and a couple of storage containers.
I bet the locals living up on that hill don't thinks it lovely when they look out of their windows
Yer gerrin’ fed up now aren’t you Veronica? Go on admit it yer gerrin’ fed up. I think somebody is going to get the sharp end of your tongue in a bit aren’t they?
I hope it’s not me!
What's not to like about this photo, we are all gerrin fed up DTease. We have yet to see a positive from Mick.
Yes,you're right Edna,it is a lovely area.We are all more than fed-up of Mr.Negativity (unless of course it's Shangri-la Shevy)
I agree Edna, what's not to like? A lovely area.
Is this the same Mick who posted yesterday "I've always enjoyed rural life ..."
A life with its season ,
my rod and my reason ,
to sit there all day ,
my Buddha pose stay ,
at one with God’s treasures ,
the water , cloud pleasures ,
and gaze into this ,
my water my bliss ,
and perhaps land a beauty ....what more...
It's the armchair back packers Dtease and the 'ordinance' surveyors, plus the moaning mon....
Look at the sheep munching on the lush green grass, I wouldn't mind looking onto that from a bedroom window. There's some lovely scenery in that area and no motorway slap bang in the middle. Watch this space for contradictions!
Ah Mick ! Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder & I behold a pleasant & peaceful rural scene.....& to coin another phrase...one man's meat etc etc
Just one word WOW
It's not surprising some very decent photographers have given up posting photos - Dave Oy especially and Harry who posted lovely ones as well. They are sadly missed. It's had a knock on effect because their 'fans' don't seem to comment either. I hope Dennis doesn't lose the will to keep posting and David.
I was told that Dave Oy set up a photo a day on another Wigan website called the Wigan Peers, here is a link. https://wigan-peers.forumotion.com/t5481p125-wigan-borough-oypad
Yes Tom I've had a look, there's some beauties on there. And from other places in the world. There's a lot of posters from here on there as well. Not too keen on the set up but I suppose you get used to it.
Ive just had a look V and to me it looks like a bit of a boring forum, Oys is trying is best to make it interesting by putting on some photos but not many of them seem to have the energy to make any genuine comments about the photos,
Like on today's photo it just says Lolly, Naughty Mitten and jo anne like this photo, and I think that's all done with one click of a button, so I think I will stay on WW were you get some good genuine comments especially from Mick.
Yes his photographs are exceptional and I noticed a photo on there from WW.! This site is easier and user friendly, more interesting to get round. Also a lot of stuff on here has been helpful to me with my ancestry... deaths and burials for one thing. Years ago I used to love looking at the Court Leet records. Loads of history. I have even found photos of my Grt grandparents which I treasure and my grandmother as a two year old. I would not have had those if I hadn't come on here, that is something I am thankful for.
Tom we are very lucky to have OY. He is a valued member.
Sorry I should have acknowledged Denis's photo. A lovely busy photo Dennis.
A friend of mine who is an excellent photographer "gave up" on here a long time ago. He has emailed superb photos to me that he has sent up to p-a-d but they were never shown, and I have seen later photos that he hasn't bothered to send that most viewers would have loved. Such a shame.
That's Ivy View, Bark Hill, Aspull.
Yes,known as Ivy Brow !
I remember your friend's photos Irene - they were very good.
Nice poem e. I like it, very down to earth.
