Good photo Mick, but you nearly missed the pigeon. Back in the day Swans used to nest in those rocks.

If there's not much left in Wigan town centre - there's always the Park..

Tell me little pigeon, as you sit upon the grass
How do little pigeons wipe their bloomin’ ass?
Does the wind blow up your rear end
As in the air you hover?
Or do you say “ to eck with it”
And never even bother?

Lovely photo Mick. Nice to see a different angle of the park.

The formation of the rocks make the photo stand out
Excellent.

So that's it then is it Mick ?, ..........a brid sitting on a patch of grass ?.... O sweet baby Jesus asleep in a manger....

C'mon mate, surely it's about quality, rather than quantity, or if it isn't, then most surely it should be.

But please don't take offence...I'm on your side you know, and I do realise that you pull your tripe out to try to keep this God forsaken site alive, but there are occasions when I still feel inclined to utter the words,............................ " DAVE,......DAVE OY!........please come back Dave, all is forgiven mate ", ........although
I'm not anticipating it happening any day soon to be honest.

So forgive me if I appear to be injecting an element of constructive criticism here, as I'm acutely aware that the parameters of the Wigan boundary are constricting to put it mildly,...but bloody hell ! ..a white pigeon ffs ?

At the last count, there were at least fifty of those critters shitting on my roof.

So all the best mate,.....although the last thing that I'm expecting is for this post to appear,...although stranger things have been known to happen it has to be said.

Regards. Ozy.

Bad day in the Anderton Shelter Ozy?
I'll bet you knocked the chip pan off the Aga again, didn't you?
These miserable winter days are getting us all down, but never mind Ozy you just have to keep a stiff upper whatsit.
P.S. I don't want to interrupt your well-earned bout of misery, but you didn't happen to notice how all those pigeons on your roof wiped their a--es did you?

Every day seems to be a bad day just lately DTease.
Here's me, spent the entire weekend installing a miniature bidet next to the fat balls but those damn magpies seem to think it's a bloody drinking fountain.
I'm just about at the point of giving up and buggering off to Jimcumbilly if I'm being honest.
Shall I leave one in the pump for you at fat Shiela's ?

Comment by: DTease on 27th January 2022 at 09:53

Ooooo! a jar of the amber nectar at fat Sheila's! that's enough to tempt the devil away from poking his fire, although I suspect that Geedubya may have beaten us both to it Ozy.
Rumour has it that he's made a killing selling ready-cooked chicken legs to us hibernating pensioners. Apparently, he was spotted on Wigan Wallgate waiting for a train to Manchester Airport wearing shorts, a T-shirt, a hat festooned with corks, and a tuckerbag on his back.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was true, he was always easily distracted by a well-rounded body above a shapely leg, remember Big Brenda?

I do hope that you've connected your bidet to the hot water Ozy. A jet of cold water up your rear end at this time of year is definitely not conducive to your health and well-being.

I see you're still following you're dreams Ozy of landing at Jimcullbilly. I'm afraid it's never going to happen... it's far easier to get on our shores than the shores of the big Oz. 'Perchance to dream though.' Dt I think moss is convenient .for the delicate areas under feathers. Ps the roof of an Anderson shelter gets covered in the stuff... that's why they manufactured them in corrugated iron - So the Bombers wouldn't see them ...?

I'm currently residing at the Holiday Inn actually Veebs, following an explosive incident at the Anderson last week as I was distilling another batch of my celebrated 17 year old scotch whiskey.
I call it " Bonnie Prince Andrew ", as I understand the lad's quite partial to a bit of 17 year old occasionally.
I escaped the worst of the blast fortunately as I was behind the curtain on the Porta Potti at the time, but the old dolly tub took a bit of a battering I'm afraid.
I'd been suffering a bout of constipation at the time, but the Big Bang sorted that out good style.
The explosion also dislodged a couple of sods from the roof of the place,....but I've been trying to get rid of those Jehova's witnesses for weeks, so I tend to view the otherwise unfortunate occurrence as divine intervention.

Comment by: Veronica on 27th January 2022 at 13:35

So sorry to hear about 'them' explosions. It could be worse Ozy there's apartments all over the place now with 'visitors' to our shores.
ps The last I heard of GDubs he was in a Town Called Alice running a Bargain Basement Bordello. He must have arrived there before this calamity was thrust on us. I know you don't get any news in the underground shelter, apart from WW for some odd reason! I will try to make time to knit some fingerless mits for you as you have probably lost fingers in the big blast. Don't go allegiancing yourself to the ' Bonny Prince" as that cannon at Haigh Hall will have to be put in operation and I wouldn't want to see Polly's feathers flying! Take care...

Veronica, I love your banter with Ozy and DTease. You all make me laugh. Its better than any script written for TV.

This is what happens Edna when they see pigeons... especially when they're on their own.
