Bark Hill Terrace
Mick, Aspull.
Just next row to Colliers Arms pub, walk here regularly.
That would be the Colliers Arms just behind it I think if I'm in the right place. Is there a significance to this row of houses Mick ? George, I didn't know this far down came under Aspull .
Well the second house isn’t going to miss any TV this year, “Mick” please enlighten me as to the reason for Bark Hill Terrace photo, is it famous, or well known for some reason?
John its famous now it can be seen all around the world.
It was New Springs , but it seems like it is all in Aspull now. I was born in Cale Lane, New Springs which is apparently Aspull now
So it is just a row of terraced houses which could be anywhere
Just like a Google Street View photo - but not as good as the current one on there.
Throughout history, going from Wigan, Aspull has started 100 yards before Cale Lane, where it the road changes from Whelley to Wigan Road.
At our end, Aspull starts just a bit further up from the station on Hall Lane, but I think it used to be at Highfield Road? Bruce is right about Aspull as the top lock and canal is in Aspull too.
If I pedal hard from finger post up to dukes row I can freewheel all the way to Tesco’s in Wigan because it’s downhill all the way, except for the bit just after the Alexandra
Yes,Bruce is right.New Springs,Aspull is the proper address of the area, beginning where Whelley ends.
