Old Bus
The last time I was on a Wigan Corporation bus the door was at the back, and open not closed.. This one is modern not old .
1986 Leyland - Olympian - Northern Counties.
Going off it’s registration, it’s a mid-60’s bus so it’s no spring chicken, Alan.
Oh the memories coming home from the pictures and sitting on the upstairs back seats
looks like a 1985 C req plate to me
Quite modern really - it's not as old as me!
Big difference between the sixties and eighties.
Roy - correct it is 1986. It wouldn't have belonged to Wigan Corporation or Wigan MBC as it was known at that time, it would have belonged to GMPT.

George ( Hindley ) If the letter C was at the other end of the number plate,
then it would have been 1965. This Leyland bus was never part of the fleet
of Wigan Corporation. However, it looks good in this Corporation livery.
Alan is right. I remember the open platform for getting on & off was at the back.
I think this one has a sort of electric pump to open & shut the doors, much more modern. Its only an 'old' bus if you are young !
I’m wrong again. I’m often wrong these days. It’s either my age or living in Hindley what’s doing me.
Agree with Ray, this type of bus and colour not in operation in 1985.
The 32 bus from Wigan was LUT not Wigan Corporation.Great photo, love the colour.
