Drake Mallard. Great photo Dennis
Fantastic photo, Dennis
We shall await Mick's comments.
It's one of the most glamorous and glossy ducks. Walt Disney couldn't do it justice.
Love the photo...
Really good photo Dennis, This is beautiful, and such brilliant colours. You were lucky to get so close.
What a beautiful bird and what rich colouring and shiny beak...he looks like his Mam has got him ready to have his photo taken!
A brilliant photo. One of the best to appear on here in a long while.
What beautiful colours and what a shiny beak! He looks as if his Mam has got him ready to have his photo taken!
Ace photo looks like he's posing for you Dennis.
Nice close up shot Dennis, but he doesn't look to pleased lol.
Edna, you can be stood at the other side of the canal and press a button on the camera to get close up, saves a lot of walking
He looks as though he's saying "what are you looking at"! Beautiful bird, wonderful colours. Thanks Dennis - takes some expertise to get such a closeup photo.
You can also get some good close ups by chucking some bread at them
Lovely pic ! Well done Dennis.
Dennis: That’s the best photo of a duck I’ve seen, if I start taking photos I’ll see about getting a DSC-WX500.
Well love a Duck.
The birds bill or beak looks like a dogs face, two ears, two eyes and nose.
Nice photo of a male Mallard.
Drake Garry, you mean Drake, wake up at the back and stop smoking those exotic herbal cigarettes!
Great photo Dennis, very clear crisp image with bright colours and proves that Sony camera far outshines Panasonic camera for taking first class photos.
Looks as if he's saying '' I've posed for you now feed me! " Lovely photo. b72
A female is a hen and a Drake is a Male. garry is quite correct.
Always called a male mallard a drake and a female mallard a duck.Glad to see you back Garry.
In the world of birds the male plumage is always so much better than the female. So in our world just the opposite.Great picture and what a cheeky facex
Its Duck and this is a Drake, Anus platyrhynchos .
Dennis I am having a go at drawing/painting this lovely duck, I like the cheeky 'dog face' on its beak. I don't think you would refuse me permission to use your photo as you are such a nice chap. ;~)
No, I don’t mind at all Veronica.
