Duck

Duck
Awesome colours on this duck near New Springs. And it hasn’t been “Tonkered With” either.

We shall await Mick's comments.

It's one of the most glamorous and glossy ducks. Walt Disney couldn't do it justice.
Love the photo...

Nice close up shot Dennis, but he doesn't look to pleased lol.

Comment by: Mick on 25th November 2021 at 10:48

Edna, you can be stood at the other side of the canal and press a button on the camera to get close up, saves a lot of walking

Comment by: Pat McC on 25th November 2021 at 11:30

He looks as though he's saying "what are you looking at"! Beautiful bird, wonderful colours. Thanks Dennis - takes some expertise to get such a closeup photo.

Comment by: Syd Smith on 25th November 2021 at 11:57

You can also get some good close ups by chucking some bread at them

Dennis: That’s the best photo of a duck I’ve seen, if I start taking photos I’ll see about getting a DSC-WX500.
Well love a Duck.

The birds bill or beak looks like a dogs face, two ears, two eyes and nose.
Nice photo of a male Mallard.

Drake Garry, you mean Drake, wake up at the back and stop smoking those exotic herbal cigarettes!

Great photo Dennis, very clear crisp image with bright colours and proves that Sony camera far outshines Panasonic camera for taking first class photos.

Looks as if he's saying '' I've posed for you now feed me! " Lovely photo. b72

A female is a hen and a Drake is a Male. garry is quite correct.

Comment by: Pw on 25th November 2021 at 18:02

Always called a male mallard a drake and a female mallard a duck.Glad to see you back Garry.

Comment by: annemarie on 25th November 2021 at 19:25

In the world of birds the male plumage is always so much better than the female. So in our world just the opposite.Great picture and what a cheeky facex

Comment by: Bono on 25th November 2021 at 19:58

Its Duck and this is a Drake, Anus platyrhynchos .

Comment by: Veronica on 26th November 2021 at 11:48

Dennis I am having a go at drawing/painting this lovely duck, I like the cheeky 'dog face' on its beak. I don't think you would refuse me permission to use your photo as you are such a nice chap. ;~)
