Mesnes Park
Irene, I was told that the Evening post was going to merges with the Observer and it will be printed weekly, so you will still get all the local news.
Good shot...nicely centered, Dennis.
It looks to me as if it's made of plastic, whether it is I don't know, but the Trevi Fountain it ain't. Sorry - it's a good photo nevertheless.
My friend the Queen of Wigan Pier, Pam likes to sit outside the Mesnes Park cafe enjoying a nice cup of tea.
This Fountain a new one, but its still made from cast iron.
It's definitely metal, Veronica, and looks nice when you pass it in the park, although of course we all view things differently. The cafe and bandstand are also in those Victorian/Edwardian shades of maroon/green/gold and look in keeping with the park's age. I have often seen Pam in the cafe, Tom.
I'm sure it looks and feels better in the 'flesh' so to speak. So many things made out of plastic these days, I am glad it is metal Irene. ( even if it's not gold plated!) ;o))
Beautiful photo Dennis.I remember as a child of about 7, climbing up the side of the steps in the background. Not up the steps. up the side,as kids do
It does look very much solid and well made when you're there. And I've seen photos of the original Victorian one that looks the same.
Nice photo Dennis.
What happened to roly polys,
and Vimto ice cream top,
then climbing up the sides uv steps,
not like the grownup lot.
I've done the shoe shine silly,
and wished a pile of things,
the rest I'll leave to him upstairs,
to see what gifts he brings...
