Only been in this pub once and that was when ex Miss Great Britain Wendy George was the landlady.

Lovely photos of now and then.
That grand building is now a very nice Indian restaurant.
Very pleasant surroundings, clean, and very friendly staff too.

Looks a lovely area, I love the trees framing the picture and It looks as if they were still there in the days gone by. A truly grand stone building and it still looks a well to do area.

Sherrie Hewson, Maureen from Corrie lives in the last house on the left, before you get to William Kirkby the gravel man yard and the Hermits house used to be across the road at the end of Spencer lane.

Lovely photos. I love the "before-and-after" ones. It looks a nice place.

I remember going there for a drink during our courting days.
It's so lovely to see the building has been looked after and looks as good as it did years ago.

Sherrie Hewson was in Wrightington Hotel and Country Club today for a guided tour of the Gym and Beauty Spa.

I served Sherrie Hewson in Boots many years ago, also Georgia Taylor and Eva Pope. They were all in Coronation Street.

I sold Appley bridge girl Eva Pope a bed, and I went to school with Georgia dad, who ended up being my financial adviser.
Sherrie Hewson daughter lives in Shevy and Sherrie opened Shevy Fete a few years ago

Miles Lane Mick, i wont say the number on here but its on the right hand side, past the school, past the row of bungalows, next is a detached house then a gap to the field, then 2 semis, next door to them is a detached house that was mine, HH are the initials of the house name.

I know which one Roy, one of the school teachers a Mrs Littler at Shevy sec modern use to live in a house near there.

Correct Mick, Mrs Littler and husband lived in Standish originally, i knew her well, she taught my sister in Standish and my daughter in Shevvy. She didn't live near HH Mick she actually lived in it.

Mick, i've just spoken to my daughter and i was wrong about Mrs Littler teaching her at Shevvy.

Mick, did you attend ( ? ) Shevington County Comprehensive as was and if so, what year did you escape ?
