The problem with timber fencing will it can looked after and treated or will they get stolen.
Looks nice though.

A brilliant if dystopian picture David . A good cover for a great book . From the age of Big Brother , from the age of the Thought Police , from a dead man ..... greetings .

While they are messing about with Poolstock I am surprised the road is not busier

Comment by: Irene Roberts on 1st March 2021 at 08:53

Looks lonely and chilly!

Comment by: Anne on 1st March 2021 at 09:10

What is the purpose of fencing on that particular road?

Comment by: Veronica on 1st March 2021 at 09:52

Another road to add to the confusion! ( for me anyway...)

Anne the fences are to try and stop all the mentally ill young locals from jumping over the edge.
Peter P Wigan council have put in very smooth wheelchair friendly footpaths.

Anne
It looks like it protects anyone passing under the road at Poolstock Lane and also anyone on the shared path alongside.

My post this morning don't make sense. I hope the new fence gets looked after and treated and hope no one steals them.
I must not have too many sherrys at that time in the morning.

The fencing is an acoustic barrier to protect wildlife & residents from noise

Progress is a stark and heavy brick ,
Smashing through the pane , with noise with it ,Not a country lane with meandering charm ,
that softens all cold edges , like a warm hug arm .
No .
This is A to B, and nothing less ,
A road with hobnailed boots and it’s called Pr...!

also known as the wigan Nurburgring race track, i think they come from all over to race on it

Great road better than going down Poolstock Lane should have been done 20 years early.
