Agree, Helen! I like this one too. I like the serenity of it. There are canals all over the place but this one somehow says "Wigan" to me., even though I don't recognise this stretch.

Irene, Mick is stood almost cheek by jowl with Trencherfield mill/flats. The building fronts onto Swan Meadow road.

I can't make my mind up about the title of this pic. It says "Leaving Wigan" but who's leaving? The boat maybe? Maybe he's just arriving?
Thanks, Ziggy, but I am used to Mick and I don't think that was meant in a derogatory way. Thankyou Anne. Peter and I walked it to Wigan along the canal from Abram to Wigan last year and maybe we were somewhere near here.
