Aspull
Well Mick, that's a great photo, your late friends house just out of view. Back in the 1970s we lived just behind Ron's and what was the Running Horses pub. Aspull in Bloom. Thanks for the reminder Mick.
I can't see Eric's motorhome from here Mick....I can't see your house either...., but I can see Ron's.
Nice photo. I like Aspull. It still has a "village green" feeling about it and the clock and flower-tubs are very much in keeping with it.
A nice village scene, and what a striking cloud formation overhead.
No clock in my time.
A bit fatter, it would resemble a chip shop vinegar bottle.
Judging by the property prices - and the rapid turnover in sales - it is obviously a popular place to live.
The parade of shops left - off photo - I used to have a weekend job in the coin op launderette; Westinghouse equipment, inexpensive, very popular on Sunday mornings.
Ive always thought this clock was put in the wrong place, its partly hidden by trees.
If I was a Aspulite I would be campaigning to get it moved across the road and put in the middle of the green with some nice flower beds and a couple of benches around it.
Yes Ozy I can see Rons, but I think Eric campervan is not there now, maybe he as sold it.
Irene,I hope you see this,I want to thank you and Peter for my lovely Birthday card..I could have sworn that I had your email address but can't find it anywhere..but obviously not.so again thank you.
