Crocus
And I thought it was a bollard. Oh wait, I hadn't turned the image high enough up, now I can see the crocus.
Yes crocus and newly painted bollards, these are at lock 80 in Ince.
Have a go at me if you like folks but I find it hard to believe that this is the best photo that was available for P-A-D. If it is then things do not bode well for the future.
Of course Teasy Wheasy, it wont be better that the ones you have sent in.
This photo is not a competition photo, its just one showing the nice newly painted bollards that have been done by the Wigan CRT volunteers and a few beautiful crocus, that I was told have been planted a few years ago by and old lady of Ince
It looks like a photo taken when somebody accidentally catches the shutter release button when they're picking the camera up or putting it down.
Only surprised it doesn't show a pair of feet or a thumb in the corner of the picture.
Mick, you do talk a load of bollards at times.
Come back Dave Oy, your P-A-D needs you. Frank Orrell, take up your camera again and show us how it's done. And Mick, I will send a photo in and I'll sign it singaporemick, maybe then it will have a chance of getting a showing.
His daft hat fell over his eyes when he was taking the picture and spoilt it.
I'm no great photographer but it may have made a better image had it been taken from a different angle.
Perhaps it should have been a pic of the white bollard OR the white crocus...just a thought.
Your quite correct Helen in what you say, I did look to at the prospects of taking the snap from another angle but on the left of me was broken glass and on the right of me was a pile of dog muck, so I was limited.
Also my bike was unattended so I wanted to get it taken as quick as I could and carry on to a safer location.
This photo's not recent, there's no painting been done this year.
Mick - to have produced a really arty-party pic you should have snipped the heads off the purple crocuses. The white one draws the eye to all the other white features around the lock - the bollards, and the white-painted parts of the gates and the footbridge.
Your pic even stirred me to versify:
There was an old lady of Ince,
Whose hair had had a blue rinse,
And who thought it would look very chintz,
To plant up some crocus -
And lo - hocus-pocus,
Each Spring it positively glints.
If a navy blue ribbon was tied round the narrow part of the said bollard, it would look like a sailor's cap ...
Confess Mick where you trying to be quirky like wot Tracy Emin's 'unmade bed'? Only joking lad..
Nice one Mick... Rev, don't give up your day job.
Not your best Mick but not the worst I've seen. Want to see bad check out album. Someone's family album again.
I think the Rev needs a sherry.
I think the Rev as already had a sherry!
