Photo-a-Day  (Sunday, 10th May, 2020)

Wigan Pier looks bigger than I remember it. Many years ago I did a canal cruise from there. Thank you for stimulating my memory Mick. I always enjoy your postings. Alan.

It's becoming more and more noticeable that only four or five Photographers are contributing most of the photos on P-A-D which is surprising considering that P-A-D has well over a thousand views per day and most people now carry a camera about with them all the time.
I have no complaints about the quality of the photos on P-A-D. But, has the old saying goes "Variety is the spice of life".
There must be some way of encouraging more people to contribute.

That's probably because a lot of us don't live in Wigan any more! Sadly

If you notice the building as been sand blasted and been pointed in a dark mortar mix, which makes it all look better.

Mick, if you look back at the month of March you will see that of the 31 days 0f P-A-D, 22 were contributed by only 4 people.
It's a good thing that you and others go to the trouble of taking and submitting photos as you do, but it would surely, also be a good thing to encourage more people to take part.
That's the only point I was trying to make.

As Brendell says, some of us no longer live in Wigan and so obviously can't contribute but Wigan has a special place in our hearts.

To upload photos for photo-a-day, please email them to me - brian@wiganworld.co.uk and include title, brief description and make/model of camera. Unfortunately I can't add them all as I get more photos than there are days in a year. Therefore I can't guarantee your photo will be added.

As for old photos. Please visit the album and click the link to add photos. These are added within several hours. If a photo doesn't get added its because it was poor quality, upside down or too small etc.

I am laid up with a bad foot at the moment but we no longer have a camera and my phone only does calls and texts.
