Whelley hanami
Just had to look up Hanami, Ive never been inside but St Stephens looks like a big church.
Still some swagger from the blossoms David. And bright of you to have allowed a bit of light to shine through the church's bell-tower.
Lovely photo of Spring. Nice to see a bit of colour. Churches and flowers together always make for a nice picture...I love to see daffodils in a churchyard but they're more or less over for this year now.
Hanami ... Cherry blossom.
Cherry Blossom always looks lovely against the stone background of a church, especially the paler pink which I love the most.
The church also reminds me of when we used to pass behind there to go to the Camel's Hump in the school holidays...the church stays the same , surroundings don't .....sadly.
Sing all you choirs of churches now gone,
demolished completely or flats become one,
Christian values in businessman's book,
Sunday now open when once it was shut.
Sunday was rest day and first it was church ,
Forget not the Sabbath decreed for its worth,
Miss it confession, penance to pay,
Sunday ingrained, that was the way,
Does church now not matter?
Have things gone astray?
Or when we weren't looking
they just filed it away..
Stunning local church.
House of God.
