Robin Park

Robin Park
Building work for 2 new retail units, one to be occupied by Nando's. Car parking will be a nightmare at weekends.

Wigan is just getting bigger and busier, just any other towns and city's.
I dont go to this area at weekends because I dont want to get caught up a crowd of football hooligans

I have never been down there and from the looks of it wouldn't want to. I don't drive these days and can't stand these soulless shopping complexes.

Hardly surprising as the retail units generate cash for landlord (thousand per month) per unit and cars generate nothing for the landlord. The traffic flow now is a joke. and it is only a question of time before some unfortunate sole losses their life down there.

We are building more and more of these takeaways, have we not got enough of them, has Brian says, the car park will be a nightmare.
If you go to Wickes DIY store you have to do a detour, this place in my opinion, is not a patch to Horwich Middlebrook Retail Park.
Robin Park is a shambles for congestion anyway, traffic to Martland Mill is clogged up.

The development seems to have a look of Middlebrook in Horwich. Mind you, it's some two years ago since I was there.
Where is this in Wigan?
I've seen it referenced by PAD people many times, but I don't know its location.

Reading about this last week.Spokesperson said there would be over 800 spaces after the units are built. If they want to shoot themselves in the foot by people avoiding the area so be it. Same with parking time limits,4 hrs except match days or event days then 2 hrs???

I don't like Retail Parks, but I do like Nando's. We go to the one in Leigh.

I can't imagine four hours is needed to look around here. I occasionally visit after I have done shopping in Asda and then only to call in stores where I am wanting something, not to wander aimlessly round.

I am with you Anne, cant see the point of aimlessy wandering round these places looking in shop windows but I believe some people do it as some kind of pastime.. beats me !

Read an article yesterday about staff at Nando's, not being paid the correct rate and then being expected to clean the premises as Nando's don't employ dedicated cleaners. Also claimed to have a policy of different coloured mops for separate areas but this is regularly ignored. The cross-contamination issue here is unbelievable in the present climate with the Corona virus outbreak.I have only visited Nando's once, years ago in central Manchester and have no desire to visit again.

Gary the retail park is tucked in behind Asda and opposite the DW stadium
