Old railway line bridge
Is this the bridge on which a scene from Foyle's War was filmed?
No the scene wasnt on this bridge but the old iron bridge that goes over the canal at haigh hall.
It is Irene, there are photos of the filming of scenes taken by Arrow over on the Forum.

Irene I got it wrong , Eddie is correct with the canal bridge.
Have you seen The Daily Telegraph today, on page 12 there is a photo of Lynda Easton in her 1940s kitchen, she and her partner live a vintage lifestyle and he won the title of Mr Vintage 2019 at the annual Twinwood vintage festival at Bedford.
Thankyou, Eddie and Cyril. xx
Forgotten and lost ,
memories cost ,
No- one noticed your dying death ,
Who cares less me or you ,
Pictures taken a chosen few
All but memory , here and now ,
I am present but dead somehow .
Just a bridge that a train ran through
just a memory me and you .
Cast a flame , point a wand ,
Once it’s living , then it’s gone ..
So progress wins for all to see,
the rule of life we know is free
but what’s the point when we take away ,
the things that matter everyday .
Forever bowing to the progress will ,
To rip apart my memories still .
So who am I to make a claim
Against a progress who rejects my name ..
This is a good angle, great photo. The most handsome bridge in Wigan? Renovation repairs some years ago. Would like to know more about this bridge.
No, I don't read any newspapers except the Wigan Observer, Eddie, but thankyou for the information....how interesting!
