Painted Ladies
They look like there enjoying sucking on that bush.
Enjoying a feast! Won't be seeing much of them now - till next year.
They are beautiful, Aubrey.
They're beautiful Aubrey..we had a few in Summer on the Buddleia bush, but I also love that shrub..I don't recognize it..the leaves look like an African Violet but I know it isn't that..please put me out of my misery and pray tell...thanking you in anticipitation.
Sedum 'Autumn Joy'
Hugh thank you..I have Autumn Joy,but it's not half as pretty as that.
Nice - Left to right... Small Tortoiseshell, Comma, Painted Lady.
Maureen, Hugh is correct, the plant is a Sedum. It is full of butterflies every year.
Thank you Aubrey..it's a beautiful shot.
Thank you Dave, There were that many butterflies there at the same time, I was unable to name some of them, but most were definitely the Painted Ladies. The small tortoiseshell and painted lady are very much alike.
