I think the word 'Moorhen' has a nice old-world ring about it, 'Waterhen' less so.

Lovely photo David.
The duckling looks as though it’s wearing goggles. Reminds me of a little dog I saw sitting in a motorbike sidecar, wearing goggles. So funny.
