New bridge

You can see a lot of sky over Wigan on a nice day
I thought the new bridge was erected
already at Poolstock....mm must be getting old.
Obviously taken some time ago. The road has been bridged for several weeks now.
Photo-a-Day photos are in a queue, so some of them might look out of date, yesterdays photo was taken in early spring but you cant tell
I remember the ironworks that once stood there.
It had a large metal gate which also fronted the cobbled road both of which guided the 'mainly native' workforce.
Its walls reverberated to a 'new kind of beat' and from players also unknown to me.
The pneumatic gun had been a joy to watch as it drove-home rivet after rivet, as were the less-sounding yet measured taps of the blacksmith's hammer.
Yet, the most endearing sound had been that of silence; No more would dear old Jarvis guide his saw.
What was stood there was the Pemberton loop line railway bridge.
Yes Alan, one bridge down and another up.
