Amberswood Green Heart
Not many Wiganers will have the pleasure of seeing Wigans Green Heart, because its not on any bus routes.
So to get to see it you need to use Shanks's pony or a push bike.
Well we've seen it now Mick.
Garry thats only a sign, there a lot more going on behind it
The "Greenheart branding" has never really taken off in Wigan. People prefer the traditional names of their favourite bits of countryside. I see loads of folk enjoying Wigan's wonderful green spaces and canal routes.
Let's keep our calm, and be creative
For 'country ways', on path created.
Perhaps we'll see the living-dance
Of whirling bee and Peacock prance.
And ladybird on newborn bud
Above the sound of grey-mare thud.
And childish reach for purple spat,
With father's cry of 'Don't touch that!'.
And passing-kind for families seen,
With children smiling in-between.
And pleasing sheets of bluebell-spread,
See distant dwellers, concrete-fed.
And harmless fun of boyish chuckle
As Simon sets his broken buckle.
And when upon our journey's end,
At portals most respective,
We'll turn our keys to day long glow;
Ours' truly, quite respective.
Should have written the word 'subjective', and not respective, on the last line of my post, . . . Ne'er mind.
