Wigan Fishermen
A copious amount of 'gear' these days, no wonder they need their cars. A far cry from the creak of wicker basket and rod tied to cross bar.
They need loads of stuff to help them to catch a little fish that they need trolleys to carry it all down the canal bank
There they are.
Some of the great philosophers along the canal - all the time in the world just to think....
Think.there always on the mobile phone.
Spot on Poet.
I remember doing just that many times as a kid. Cycling up to Red Rock from Norley Hall and a quiet day on the canal bank.
Heaven, back then.
To all Wigganers , whatever , age , colour gender or religion, who will be celebrating
PRIDE day , tomorrow, have the most wonderful, wonderful day !! Make a noise and enjoy!!
I don't think so - 'on their mobile phone' that would be defeating the object of fishing - the fish wouldn't come near.....certainly not the people I know who go for the peace and quiet!
We will be in Ingleton, Julie, at the 1940s event, but hope everyone at Pride has a brilliant time. xxxxx
Thanks Irene , Only wish Wigganers could see it tomorrow. Last year just blew me away! The colours, music and excitement
The entire area of Soho was jumping up and down to the song 'We all live in a Yellow Submarine'
The children were going crazy! Loving every second. Tomorrow, the whole of the West End will be covered with Pride flags and colours .Everyone dressed to the extreme. If not for you WW, send your grandchildren. They will have an absolutely wonderful time and experience. This I promise you!!
PRIDE is the best thing ever!! I am what I am!! It's only the person inside that matters. The outer is just a shell of makeup.. on that you can paint and wear what you like!!
Mobile phone playing games or texting. NOT talking. OH.....
No thank you.
Irene , PRIDE , Absolutely massive here in London . Wish you could see it .What’s lovely Irene there are Grandparents, parents and their children , ALL , dressed to the nines in Pride colours . Truly , wonderful, how the next generation will be brought up to teach love not hate ! One million plus today , next year will be Three for sure . A growing not just here , but across the globe . To see Grandparents teaching Pride.... how wonderful is that .
Familiar photo Mick, there must have been a "match on". Which stretch was this on ?, I don't recognize it.
