Is that smoke coming out of a chimney? Something you don't see very often these days.

The plume of smoke could be seen to 'add more to this homely scene' than could the scene's back gardens-cum-back yards.
And surely, Parbold can also sing of its very own 'Sweet Lass'.

Yes it is Irene its from a wood burning fire, did you have a good owd fashioned cough when you saw it

It's probably coming from their AGA Irene. I have one of those you know. I don't know if I mentioned it previously.
I chuck a couple of old car tyres on the thing occasionally, as I find they give the stew a sort of curried barbecue flavour, as well as having the added bonus of annoying those miserable sods next door.

You still have neighbours Ozy?

Comment by: . Ozymandias . on 2nd June 2019 at 19:08

Well the gypsies eventually decided they'd had enough of me and and my odd ways and buggered off DTease, but this latest lot, well they just tend to eye me with suspicion and appear to consider me a harmless eccentric...Poor imbecilic innocents...little do they realise they have yet to experience the full on seismic potential of my eccentricity.

I suppose the stew has to cook very slowly overnight Ozy - unless you've found you know what ...that's why Aga's are so very economical. Have you looked really hard? They could be down the back of the sofa where you keep your ginger nuts and your odd socks!

Well first off Veronica, the ginger nuts are all long gone, and furthermore, thanks to messing around on this blessèd contraption, my last two crusts have disintegrated into a fine charcoal dust on top of my AGA. I now have a supper of two Twix bars to look forward to, followed by half an hour with the wire brush sweeping the soot from the grooves in my artexed ceiling. Please pardon my air of irritation
And many thanks for your concern nonetheless.

Are we ALL potty on here, ladies and gentlemen? (Notice I didn't say "guys"!) And I never will! xxxxx

Comment by: Veronica on 2nd June 2019 at 21:41

Definitely Irene - but it's fun! I think if Ozy uses a wire brush the artex will disintegrate!
