Buzzards
Photo: Alan Banks (Panasonic DMC-TZ60)
Unusual view of a bird normally seen soaring. Buzzards aplenty around Hic Bibi at the moment. Alan, may I ask how you can tell these are males?
They do look fierce. I wonder who won..
A very interesting shot, Alan.
Well done.
I once saw two cock pheasants fighting and another time I saw two male swans fighting on the canal. They can all be quite vicious.
Excellent!
Nature red in tooth and claw.
The top one looks like he's saying to Alan, "Wot's it getten t'do wi' thee? Mind thi' own business!"
They might be making love
I see many of these birds locally but always from a distance when they are soaring and calling, a mewing call.
Well done for spotting them.
"Wot's it getten t'do wi' thee? Mind thi' own business!”
Irene, the number of times I heard that during bust ups in the back yards of Aspull. Luv it, I really do.
Poet, the females are larger ,
Thanks Alan, I'll add that to my identification notes.
