Mandarin
One of your better ones Mick, it doesn't look real, very colourful.
Great shot Mick, is it alive or is it stuffed. Seriously though one of your better shots, you shouldn't have any negative comments.
My first glance I thought this must be a caricature / cartoon. Even the shape of the duck looks out of sync - perhaps it's a case of preening it's feathers. Very unusual - to me anyway....
Very unusual! I too didn't think it seemed real as I have never seen one but Peter recognised it as a mandarin duck right away.
The duck caught on video.

I was talking to old Bill Oddie and he said Wigan is so lucky to have a mandarin living locally, he went on saying how it was the nicest coloured bird in whole world.
He seems to be a modest little fella, as well.
Some also live on Worthington Lake.
The only duck which nests in a tree.
I have seen mallards nesting in trees many times
