St Catharines

Good photo. Is that the church that had the steeple straightened. Cos it still looks to be leaning. Maybe it's the lens being used in the camera.
Lovely photo, framed by leaves. It was hard to get used to the spire being straight after years of seeing it crooked!
The church is looking good. The way I remember it,was, there was a lot more trees growing around the building. The clock was very convenient for time checks where I lived as well!
Got married here in December1958. Diamond wedding anniversary coming up on 6th December. Seems like only yesterday.
I was christened here and still have the little commemorative baptism card.
The clock was renovated as a WW2 Memorial in 1946.
Anne, how lovely that you still have your baptism card.
Been looking for my baptism card, found it and also found my dads. 17th Oct. 1909. Can't find my mums.
Derek - I chronicled the work of dismantling the crooked spire and re-erecting it between February 2012 and 2013 - look through the archive for this feature for the pics.
Anne, say a little prayer to St Jude,it always works for me,
Hold them , for soon they’ll be gone ,
the movement of change is hidden from none ,to look with ignorance is such a nice place . Fact , is a cold house , which few wish to brace ..
Close my doors , my history is me .
within these walls is all I can see .
The unfolding world is far over there
my door , is my door , the rest ... I let be ..
Thanks Maureen but I don't ever recall seeing one. Not seen one for my brother either.
Rev Lang, I do remember the steeple being renovated. I was looking at PAD's back then. It was just an observation about it still looking ever so slightly crooked.
