Starting to look silly now.
If these lights take off people on the council estates will start to have them shining on there houses

Comment by: Veronica on 16th November 2018 at 08:07

It does look a lonely place despite the lights. Ironic really after two wars fought in the defence of freedom, older people don't like to venture out after dark and come into the town centre as Irene remarked. It's the same everywhere though I think.

Amazing! I love the two old-style lamps amongst the modern lighting.

Comment by: Anne on 16th November 2018 at 10:14

Don't like it at all. Too garish and glitzy for the subject it is illuminating.

Comment by: Susan on 16th November 2018 at 10:29

Micks paranoid about council estates.

Comment by: Fert on 16th November 2018 at 14:15

My God, what a mess, just how have they got that wrong. It looks like a centre column on a kiddies ride at Blackpool.
Mick, these type of projected light shows are already on the domestic market - and guess what, more take up on detached housing on 'private' estates. Didn't you know?

Comment by: Philip G. on 16th November 2018 at 14:41

I think it would look better if the natural colour of just the monument, poppies, and names of The Fallen, were each allowed to shine through ... with less-bright pathways.

Comment by: Julie on 16th November 2018 at 17:13

My God Mick , that is so patronising! And why shouldn’t they light their houses (within the law ) as they please . The more I read your post , the more offensive I find it . I really think you should clarify what you mean . This ‘Them’ over there? I was born and bred as one of your Them’s .
Take it for sure I am offended big time !
‘People on Council estates will start shining on their houses as well’
Am I reading this ?

What gives YOU the right to decide what they do? Those people over there . WoW!,
The LAW , decides in this country, NOT,
people like you, what is acceptable.

In a democracy, you have a right to state you
opinion . In my eyes , your opinion STINKS !

Light your houses , within the law .

Julie,at last someone who has this obnoxious excuse for a male Sussed,he cannot praise anyone's photos, and has made comments on Council tenants before,I could tell a tale or two if he wants to push too much with his nasty comments, he is a pathetic creature.Good for you Julie.

Comment by: Glass half full on 16th November 2018 at 18:51

Julie, Sue, whether it is attacking the efforts of those who contribute to photo a day (especially when he hasn't had a picture on for a few days), or nasty generalisations about folk from council estates as above, that behaviour is designed solely to gain attention - even if it is negative attention. It's best not to reinforce that kind of behaviour by ignoring it. I feel pity for anyone who behaves in that way.

Comment by: Susan on 16th November 2018 at 19:15

Glass half full, you are so right,my hubby says to totally ignore him,he never reacts to anything that's said in retaliation which proves exactly what you and my hubby say,he just annoys me so much that some people cannot or don't want to see through him..he is the most obnoxious creature ?I know.

Comment by: DTease on 16th November 2018 at 19:52

Mick hopes by this means to get a reaction
That's how he obtains his self satisfaction.

Comment by: Lynne on 16th November 2018 at 22:04

I love it. It's time Wigan accepted the fact that we now live in the 21st Century!

As for Mick (Ignorance is bliss?)...It is "theirs" , not "there's"

Comment by: Mick on 16th November 2018 at 22:38

Thing is if I stand on a chair and look through the back bedroom window I can see some of the C houses and Im worried if these lights do take off I will be able to see them flashing.

Comment by: DTease on 16th November 2018 at 23:41

Considering all the time you spend round the Plantations Mick, you surely can’t be a stranger to flashing, and you don’t have to stand on a chair to see it there either.

Comment by: Susan on 17th November 2018 at 07:26

The mans a weirdo.Im more convinced now.

Comment by: irene roberts on 17th November 2018 at 08:32

Anything I had to stand on a chair to see would hardly be worth worrying about!

Comment by: Veronica on 17th November 2018 at 09:28

No use wasting energy getting uptight about anything he says - it just encourages him more. I have just bought some fairy lights I hope they don't 'take off' when switched on!

Comment by: Veronica on 17th November 2018 at 13:29

We've always got our friend Dtease to comically counterattack Mick the Pic's nonsense!

Comment by: Julie on 17th November 2018 at 18:10

I apologise to you for being born a leper to you and your vision . My credentials are ,
From a Council Estate . And , do know what Mick , I am so proud of this fact , as it has always held me in good stead throughout my life . They/them are the most honest and genuine people you will ever wish to find . They may have nowt , but it’s a very special nowt , which clearly you can’t see . I am proudly one of them , you need never need a chair to look me into my face . I will always judge you equal .
