Towpath Fall
Photo: Steve Carter (Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ3)
Towpath can be dangerous for people who are on there bikes when its full of ruts.
Lovely Autumn scene.
Beautiful, peaceful, shot. In my experience, Mick, the nuts are usually ON the bikes.
A very nice Photo' Steve.
Parted now, the Summer's balm -
Inviting autumn airs;
Mellow tunes through oakwood, strewn,
While safe from gruesome pares.
The mirrored trees, by water calm,
Had seen the harvest carted
And now, perhaps - of daylong glow -,
Engaging hands, departed.
There's a feeling of The Haywain about this Steve, particularly with PG's line'Had seen the harvest carted'.
Autumn is made for photographers ,artists, musicians and poets.
I could walk that rutted track the whole day long.
John Morris, yes I agree with you.
Ah, but just think upon those ruts,
how many eyes, ears and noses, have appreciated Nature's given without cost. A fall in the cut or trip over the handle bars into the hedges, whilst eyeing a skylark, is not a journey lost.
Not forgetting a scarred knee, the same hue as a pitman's back! Believe me it's never faded after nearly 60 years!
