Don't think I've ever been in this pub. Not even sure where it is. I guess it's before the railway bridge going towards springfield

When its coming down, time to start anew.

I suspect the pub is closed.

There was a naked woman in that top right hand window when I took this photo

spent many happy times in there, sad to see it now like this

There's a window ajar and a dressing gown maybe, hung up at the window ( funny place!) Not closed yet it seems. I wonder what the connection was with the Board of Guardians - apart from calling in for a pint.

Derek Platt, this is immediately opposite the bottom end of Gidlow Lane and the entrance to Prescott St. and the railway bridge are just beyond it going towards the town centre,

This former pub faces the end of Gidlow Lane where it joins Frog Lane.
Next to pub on the left is Parry's Car Paints. I think the "naked woman" in the top right window is a dressing table mirror.
Good photo,Mick.

Veronica, it's been closed for a few years now, squatters are in residence at the moment.
Derek, it's opposite the bottom of Gidlow Lane where the lane meets Frog Lane.

This pub was converted into flats years ago.

Blimey - it looks like they've got 'new' windows in - and a black bin!
Thank you Roy for the info.

In the middle of the road opposite this pub used to be "The big lamp",one of those with a huge cast iron base.Ideal play ground for us kids, no traffic.Happy days!!

Such a shame. Used to be a beautiful pub, very busy in its day.
