I went into the Exhibition Tom it was really interesting. Lovely to see those dresses in such good condition, after all they must be 60 years old! All credit to you for organising it. I will be going in again soon looking something up.
I remember well the whit Monday walks. Both from my school days and working at Walmsleys in the fifties and sixtias. We got whit Monday of but woe betide you if you didn't walk.
Rather eerie I think. Like two ghost dresses.
Veronica , glad you enjoyed the exhibition.
Good news we've had a days extension until the 2nd of August .its well worth a visit you can watch old films of the walks and listen to people's memories , along with hundreds and hundreds of photographs. So if you would like to see it there's only a week left !
This is for DTease, regarding the cricket explanation the name i found was John Watkins who lives now in the London area
Tom, I thought I'd read somewhere that it was on until December. I intended visiting after the school summer holidays. Must have got that wrong.
