Winter Hill fire
WINTER HILL 1588
Knowest thee when thou see from below,
Yon billowing sea of Calico
Sailing in the channel sky
Born of heath burned parched and dry,
Thou needest not thy almanac
As so in anxious centuries back.
For the Pike hath spoke with lips aflame
To warn of the coming ships from Spain.
Unusual sky with two shades of blue
Nice photo, Anne. Wonder if this one can be seen from space also?
Absolutely beautiful smoke signal say find the idiots who did this and put them behind bars.
Fred a photo of the smoke billowing over towards the Isle of Man was shown on North West weather.
Good clear photo Anne.
You can see the two sources of fire, the larger area near to the transmitters which reportedly was started by off road bikers after an argument with a gamekeeper, and the smaller one near to the Pike of which they have the offender who started it.
Cheers, Cyril...
Wonderful picture Anne , thank-you .
Nature will recover. It is not Nature we need to look at , but ourselves.

Arsonists should be hung, drawn and quartered!
Which reminds me.....Sign seen on a pick-up truck in Arizona,
Native American driver, smoke signals only!
There would be more poetic justice Johnny in sending them to the stake.
Very apt Poet.
