Bluebells
Little bells that never ring
But yet they make a sad heart sing.
Lovely photo Mick.
These are not English bluebells however lovely they are, they are Spanish bluebells & are a invasive species that are contaminating the true woodland bluebell in the UK.
It is illegal to let them spread from gardens & land. They were commented on a short while ago on WW. There you go Mick !
Blue Spanish Bells
Nectar is falling from your Spanish Bells
Please, please don't cry
This is just adios and not goodbye
Soon you'll return
Bringing all the beauty your tiny bulb can hold
Please say "Si, si"
Say you and your Spanish Bells will grow again for me.
I'm fillin' up here Cyril.
Haa the gradely Club Singer, where have they all gone?
Thanks to you both for attending the auditions today DTease and Cyril. You'll find your coats in the green room where you left them.....Once again, many thanks for your praiseworthy efforts, but please don't attempt to contact us.....we'll be in touch if necessary.
Regards. Ozy.
That is lovely Cyril, I had to sing it !
Goes to show Cyril, some folks can't appreciate a good singist when they read one. PHILISTINES!
Who needs Al Martino
Where have they all gone indeed DTease. As far as I'm aware, Peter Firmani is now a voice teacher in Yorkshire and, unfortunately, Johnny Meadows and Robert Young no longer walk among us, … . I have Firmani singing Cyril's 'beauty', on vinyl.
Oh! thanks Maureen, I'll have one, I haven't had a Martino since 1956, and it's almost 2000 now.... Bin the olive by the way. I can't be doing with fruit named after wimmin', the reason being, I once had an unhappy relationship with a woman named Olive....I also once had my heart broken by a girl by the name of Phyllis Tynes....Thanks for bringing it all flooding back DTease.
Some names to conjure with there Philip. Okay so they didn't make the big time but just the mention of those names to Wigan people of a certain age is guaranteed to bring a smile to their faces. There is no doubt they gave a lot of pleasure to a lot of people.
"Spanish Eyes" was always a Clubland favorite and how about "Begin The Beguine". Just add "My Way" and you have a treble up!
And what an accumulator you have provided me with, DTease. I remember my dad singing Begin the Beguine, and also White Christmas, Fascination, The Skye Boat Song ('for my personal delectation') around the house, when my brother and I were children. Yeah, ... "Without a Song."
I'm sure you'll get over Phyllis Ozy, remember there are plenty more fish in the sea. Mind you, I wouldn't go looking in the sea at Southport if I was you, last time I went to Southport I found some VERY strange things in the sea and they weren't the kind of thing you would want to take home to meet your mother I can tell you.
Why do people say that about fish in the sea? Most of the creatures that live in the sea are uglier than Ugly McUgly. Not only are they ugly they are extremely unfriendly. They all seem to have been designed with a mouthful of huge teeth that can rip a man's leg off with one bite (Not to mention some more important bits). The ones that don't have teeth have six foot long saw blades where any sensible creature would have a nose.
It seems to be a general rule of nature that the deeper you go the more ugly and weird the creatures get. It's as though the other creatures have banished them to the depths for being so ugly "I'm sorry son but you really are repulsive, I'm afraid you'll have to pack your bags and take yourself down below" "Keep going down and don't stop until you get sand in your eyes".
Perhaps you would be better sticking tert t'internet after all Ozy.
