Photo-a-Day (Monday, 4th June, 2018)
Cement pond
As the saying goes "As pretty as a picture"..it's just lovely. Thank you Ron.
Beautiful picture. I always knew it as The Lily pond.
Nice Spring pic Ron.
In the pink! most certainly.
I took a better one than this, its looking the other way and shows the fountain and big wheel
Very happy memories of very special days.x.
I remember being able to sit on the low wall- I have a photo doing exactly that in the sixties - must put it on one of these days. The greenhouses are in the background as well.
I should imagine Ron took this shot to show the beauty of the trees especially the cherry blossom and the water feature and reflections! It's a really good picture.
A smashing photo of much to like Ron, but there's no doubt as to what the star of the show had been.
I also like the fountain's spray, as it cascaded amongst those very much taller trees, yet sympathize with the sober mid grey-green cast of the small rooftop on the right as it tried in vain to hold the surrounding dizzy greens on a tight rein, … . Thanks.
Nice photo Ron, and Mick you're a glutton for punishment
Mick, Nobody cares, Thought you always said it wasn't a competition, You need to grow up or go away from here.
A lovely photo, well done.
Mick please put your photo on then we can judge for ourselves!
Pat,I wouldn't even want to look at his photo..he's just no tact at all and very ignorant...no finesse.
What an excellent photo.
I have never seen anything as good as that one.
Well done, Ron. Well taken.
What a beautiful photograph Ron. I wish I had your talent for capturing such beauty. I never mastered the box brownie!j
I was looking forward to Poet’s contribution, his poetic descriptions bring an extension to the photograph.
Nice one Ron. Lovely spring scene with lots of people enjoying the park.
Ron's marvellous photo speaks for itself in capturing what I remember of the magic of Haigh Hall, but may I offer for Pat a small trifle.
Under mists of salmon blossom
The sounds of summer teem
With the cries of children calling
For Lyons Maid ice-cream.
As the hiss and plash of the fountain,
Showers the tin of the pool,
"Mam, can we have another
Just so we may keep cool".
