I was in the woods yesterday when I heard him!

To be fair, you're not the best musician
I've ever heard! Better leave the violins
And flutes to wrens and robins,
The cadenzas and arpeggios to the blackbirds.
You remind me of a child struggling with
The opening four notes of Beethoven's Fifth.
You turn up each spring struggling to find the right key,
Yet when I first hear you, Cuckoo,
I thank God you're back
To open the summer symphony.

Such a vivid blue against the new green of the leaves on the trees.
Beautiful photo David.

In throngs dancing on the woodland floor,
wearing bonnets swathed in blue,
Preening and shimmering at every turn,
Until at last in silence, bells quaff-the refreshing dew!

Upright trees, and lateral beads;
A stage for hidden birds.

The woodland dome today sent forth
Hail Reverend's 'ken' of thirds.

Beautiful Keep the ones with heads bow. Otherwise, Spanish invaders!
